Manny Machado Caps Off 3 Homer Night With A Walk Off Grand Slam
Unreal night by Manny Machado. I just blogged earlier today how Manny was getting his groove back and raking at the plate. How does he back that up? Just going 3-5 with 3 homers, and a career high 7 driven in including a walk off grand slam to beat the Angels 9-7. He helped bring the O’s back from an early 5-0 deficit as Jeremy Hellickson gave up what seemed to be 49 homers in the first 4 innings. But seriously, Machado man. 3 Grand slams in his last 11 games has to be some record. He was god awful in the first half, but he’s just been awesome since the break. He’s back to that MVP form he showed in recent years. 21 RBI in his last 17 games brings his season total to 81 on the season, and his home run total is now 26. He’s back in a big way. He just showed why he’s a $400 million player.
Big win considering that the Angels hold the second wild card spot and the O’s are fighting with about half the American League for that last spot. 60-62 and 2 games back now, gotta hope this win injects some life into the O’s! God damnit I love Manny.
